Ug.

Head cold.

Sunday.

Sorry. I'll try to do better.

Ahem. The beginning of school has gone really well, if albeit, mighty busy. I've had meetings out the wazoo almost every day last week (one day had three meetings!). My specialist degree has begun, and I've been doing homework for it (lots and lots of reading). I've finished two books, and I have just begun number three. I had hoped to have my journal article critique finished today, but with my ickiness, I'm not so sure.

We had PINS yesterday and had thirteen people come. A good time was had by all. I was working on a new poncho in light green wool and lace wight mohair held together. Mindless. That's all I can do at this point.

Dad goes in for esophagial cancer surgery on Tuesday. Miguel has another cardiac appointment Tuesday (rapid heart beats to be fixed surgically). I've not had any time to make my post DNC appointment due to sheer business (as in busy-ness).

Sunday.

Sniff. Cough.

Back to reading.

Summer is over.

Elementary and middle schools in Hall County began their pre-planning this morning. High schools begin tomorrow. I've slowly been getting my room ready over the last couple of weeks, so I think I'm ahead of the game. This is good, because I lose four hours on Tuesday afternoon to help register kids at our county's International Center. Then on Wednesday, we have Open House. Tonight, however, Maria and I head up to Tennessee to register for our Education Specialist (last degree before PhD) courses at Lincoln Memorial University. Tonight. Six until eight or nine PM. Two-and-a-half hour drive. Which puts us back home around 11:30 PM. Yuck! So much for getting to bed early the night before work begins.

As for knitting, I've done some more work on my lace scarf. That's about it. I did, however, pick up something new. Needlepoint. At PINS, I started asking questions about the techniques from the other members. I went over to Michael's and bought a little learn how to kit with three cats on it. I also bought a kit for stitching the front of a glasses case/cell phone holder with hearts on it. I've already finished the first cat picture (it really was little--2 days) and started on the case. I love learning new things!

I'm off to get the day started. Lots to do!!!
